Day35: Presentation Visual Aid (Design)

Objectives: We will be able to...
• Analyze and evaluate slide design in terms of color schemes, fonts, graphics, animation, and transitional movements
• Choose appropriate colors, fonts, graphics, animations and transitions for their PPT presentations
• Create slides that are attractive and clear, and do not distract the audience from the speaker

[10 minutes] Analysis of a Student Example PPT (Warm Up)
Watch STUDENT EXAMPLE PPT and discuss what make it a bad example.
Major points to take away:
• Images are distracting, feel “busy”
• Titles are not helpful to understand the slide
• Layout is cluttered and confusing
• Graphics are not helpful in getting the speakers point across
• Animation is confusing/distracting. Transitions are distracting.
• Overall, it is busy, confusing - neither informative nor compelling

[20-25 minutes] Presentations: Visual Design PPT
Let's cover the PRESENTATIONS: VISUAL DESIGNS PPT

[10-15 minutes] Workshop

Discuss the VISUAL AID HANDOUT_CHECKLIST
