Overview of Unit 4
Rhetorical Analysis of a Commercial and Presentation

Rhetorical Analysis of a Written text vs. an Audiovisual
Brainstorming:
How analyzing a commercial might be similar to/different from analyzing an opinion article?

Discuss similarities and differences they notice between the two (Focus on the contents instead of the style/tone).

Academic Presentations vs. Writing
Go through a sample RA prezi presentation.

Discuss the following:
  • What similarities and differences did you notice in the prezi presentation and the RA papers you read?
  • Which part would you include and leave out if you were to present contents of paper you wrote?
Creating a Presentation Outline
Chevy Happy Grad
Based on the discussion on "presentations vs. writing", turn the RA of a commercial (essay) into an oral presentation. Discuss what kinds of information from the essay must be presented and what needs to be modified. Then, fill out the presentation outline.
